CPUT Management has decided by to suspend classes for Tuesday and Wednesday pending a council meeting that will sit to deliberate on insourcing and dropping of state charges against students.

This comes after marathon meetings were held on Monday afternoon between workers, students and management.

The council meeting is expected to sit on Wednesday. Through united effort between students and workers, the meeting which had initially been set for early September was moved to the 31st of July and after rigorous lobbying from the students it was decided that meeting be moved to Wednesday.

CPUT cleaning and security staff demand new insourcing contracts while students involved in Fees Must Fall want the university to lobby the state to drop all charges related to the struggle for free education.
