Cape Town – As we prepared to commemorate the 61st anniversary of the historic 1956 women’s anti-pass march on Wednesday, the country woke up to yet another brutal death of a young woman.
Aviwe Jam-Jam’s body was found at Vygieskraal Stadium at 03h00 on July 24 after she was reported missing on 22 July at Mfuleni Police. Jam-Jam was last seen visiting her boyfriend.
Western Cape police have confirmed that her body was identified by her family on Monday.
It is believed that she was allegedly assaulted and beaten to death by her boyfriend.
No one has been arrested for her death and the investigation continues.
Police Minister, Fikile Mbalula, is expected to visit the family of the slain 26 year old to offer his condolences.
