Emonti – Isikolo sikanokutsho saseMonti iSelborne College sizibone singundaba-mlonyeni kutsha nje emva komfanekiso otyhuthya-tyhutyha kumakhasi wonxibelelwano obonakalisa umfanekiso odumileyo woqhanqkalazo luka-1976 ezotywe ngokubonakalisa abaqhankalazi abamnyama beneentloko zezinja.

Umfanekiso ovele kumakhasi wonxibelelwano ubonakalisa ukuba lomfanekiso usetyenziswe kwisimemo ebesibhalelwe abafundi ababesaya kufunda kwesi sikolo. Esi simemo sibhalwe phantsi kombutho i-Old Selbornian Association. Lendibano ibisekelwe umhla wama-27 EyoMnga kwimpelaveki ephelileyo.

Owayesakuba ngumfundi eSelborne uKamva Gwana uthe yena akumothusi oku ngoba esisikolo sisekelwe phantsi kwezithethe zobuhlanga kwaye ngendlela ajonge ngayo sizakuphinda senzeke isehlo esilolu hlobo.
Kuvakala ukuba abanye abafundi abadala khange bayizimase lendibano emva kokuba bebone umfanekiso okwisimemo.
Umfanekiso ovelileyo ubonakalise lendibano izinyaswe ubukhulu becala ngabamhlophe.

Umbhexeshi oyingqonyela wombutho wabafundi abadala u-Alan Parsons khange afune ukuphawula ngalomba.

English Translation:
A social media storm has erupted after an altered picture of the 1976 student protests surfaced depicting black protesters as dogs.
The altered picture which surfaced on Friday afternoon was used as part of an invitation to a re-union of Old Selbornian’s on 27 November.
Commenting on this controversy Selborne old boy Kamva Gwana said “I am not surprised by this situation unfolding at Selborne. The school has been in denial of the larger racial issue at the school for years. The school is tied up in protecting “values” “teachings” and “traditions” that are inherently racist.”
It is believed that some old boys refused to attend the re-union in protest of the racist picture.
Another picture surfaced on social media showing about 23, mostly white, Old Selbornians posing unashamedly next to the picture.

Alan Parsons, the executive director of the old boy’s association, refused to comment on the matter.
Selborne College could not be reached for comment.
