Cape Town – UCT Radio 104.5fm has apologized after sending a racially offensive tweet on Tuesday.
The station was taken to task by Twitter user after issuing a tweet asking whether black people ‘really deserve nice things’ following the pitch invasion by disgruntled fans on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida. Stadium where Kaizer Chiefs lost 2-0 to Free State Stars.
Retracting the offensive tweet, the station admitted that the tweet was poorly worded and apologized for ‘offending our listeners’.
They claimed that the intention was to spark a conversation following the pitch invasion.
Called for comment, one Live Drive DJ referred us to the recently tweeted apology.
