Cape Town – UCT activist Masixole Mlandu’s #FeesMustFall case has been postponed to 15 March.
Mlandu appeared before the Wynberg Regional Court on Friday. The prosecutor presented to the court a report by the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders (NICRO) indicating Mlandu’s compliance with a court order to complete 150 hours of community service.
Mlandu has completed his community service which is a precondition for his acquittal.
He was charged with for allegedly causing public violence during the 2016 #FeesMustFall protests.
The prosecutor said that Mlandu needs to attend four counseling or rehabilitation sessions before the case is completely withdrawn.
Magistrate Jackie Redelinghuys warned Mlandu to appear again on Friday, 15 March.
